This is not meant to be a debating period. Complaints and problems relating to policy matters will be referred to the Superintendent.

BUSINESS SERVICES CONSENT ITEMS
a.
Approve all Consent Items as detailed in Items XII.b. – XII.k.

b.
Approve Agreement with Eide Bailly LLP, Certificated Public Accountants, to audit the financial statements of the District for a three-year period, at a total cost not to exceed $176,700.00 ($54,600.00 due June 30, 2024, $58,800.00 due June 30, 2025, and $63,300.00 due June 30, 2026), funded by General Funds (Appendix Item).

Eide Bailly, LLP., has provided Redlands Unified School District professional audit service in accordance with United States generally accepted auditing standards; the standards outlined in the current Guide for Annual Audits of K-12 Local Education Agencies and State Compliance Reporting, the standards for financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States; the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996; and the provisions of Uniform Guidance, and will include tests of accounting records, a determination of major program(s) in accordance with Uniform Guidance, and other procedures necessary.  

c.
Approve Agreement between Redlands Unified School District and Food Safety Systems, to develop a comprehensive safety and sanitation program, at a cost not to exceed $77,240.00, effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, to be funded by Food Services Funds (Appendix Item).

Food Safety Sytems (FSS) in collaboration with Redlands Unified will visit each of the schools listed to provide Redlands Unified School District with a complete and sustainable food safety and sanitation system, inclusive of oversight, safety and sanitation training, education, and inventory control.

d.
Approve Agreement with PCH Architects, to provide Architectural and Engineering Services for the kitchen HVAC addition at Clement Middle School, in the amount of $67,520.00 plus reimbursables, to be funded by Covid Funds and/or Redevelopment Agency Funds. Authorize Jason Hill, Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, to sign on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

PCH Architects will assist the District with architectural and engineering services for the kitchen HVAC addition at Clement Middle School. Services will include preliminary design, construction document services, plan review, assistance with bid preparation and construction support.

e.
Approve Agreement with Props AV LLC., to provide event production services for graduation ceremonies and rehearsals at the Redlands Bowl, effective June 5, 2023 through June 9, 2023, at a cost not to exceed $65,000.00, to be funded by Local Control Accountability Plan Funds (Appendix Item).

Props AV LLC., in conjunction with the District, will provide entertainment production services, as specified in the attached agreement, to support the 2023 Redlands Unified School District commencement ceremonies.

f.
Approve Agreement with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools to provide direct certification of free and reduced meal applications, effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026, at no cost to the District (Appendix Item).

In compliance with the State of California mandates regarding the confidentiality of documentation received identifying CALWORKS and Food Stamp Families for the implementation of Direct Certification of eligible students for free benefits under Schools Nutrition Programs.

g.
Amend Agreement with Informed K12, to provide ongoing staff support for a workflow platform that supports District forms and processes, effective March 10, 2021 through June 30, 2024, at a total cost not to exceed $71,287.00 per year, to be funded by COVID-19 Funds (Appendix Item).

Informed K12, in collaboration with Redlands Unified School District, is seeking to renew the agreement with Redlands Unified School District. This agreement will run through June 30, 2024, to help mitigate the COVID-19 impact.  Informed K12 will provide a workflow platform that will support District forms and processes to aid in accountability and internal reconciliation, access to information for Cabinet and the Board of Education, and visibly improve service to the community and personnel.    

h.
Approve Patrick Kelley, Interim Superintendent, as an authorized agent for documents, contracts and certification of Board Action on behalf of the Governing Board, effective April 25, 2023 through June 30, 2023 (Appendix Item).

The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, School Claims Division County Form No. 1, 2, approves the authorized agents status for the District.

Accept donations. Instruct the secretary to write letters of appreciation on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

j.
Approve Payment Transmittal Numbers 23001338 through 23001430 for April 25, 2023, in the amount of $2,146,908.97. Authorize Jason Hill, Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, to sign on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

Approve recommendation of the District Curriculum Committee for the new elective course, Creative Writing II, in the Secondary Course of Study for the 2023-2024 school year (Appendix Item).

In accordance with Board Policy 6141 - Curriculum Development and Evaluation, members of the District Level Curriculum Committee met on April 5, 2023, to comprehensively review and recommend approval of Creative Writing II within the Secondary Course of Study for the 2023-2024 school year.

c.
Approve recommendation of the District Curriculum Committee for the new elective course, Google Workspace II, in the Secondary Course of Study for the 2023-2024 school year (Appendix Item).

In accordance with Board Policy 6141 - Curriculum Development and Evaluation, members of the District Level Curriculum Committee met on April 5, 2023, to comprehensively review and recommend approval of Google Workspace II within the Secondary Course of Study for the 2023-2024 school year.

d.
Approve six (6) Members of eSports from Redlands High School to travel, by plane, to Kansas City, MO to compete in the National eSports Tournament, effective May 18, 2023 through May 20, 2023.

To be funded by ASB; Two days of school will be missed.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES ACTION ITEMS
a.
Adopt Resolution No. 33, 2022-2023 Day of the Teacher, May 10, 2023 (Appendix Item).

District support of this designated Day of the Teacher by California Legislature makes a visible statement that we acknowledge and thank teachers for dedicating their professional lives to our children. This year’s theme is: “California Educators: Planting seeds, inspiring students and future educators.”

b.
Adopt Resolution No. 34, 2022-2023 Education Support Professionals Day, May 16, 2023 (Appendix Item).

District support of this designated Education Support Professionals Day by California Legislature makes a visible statement that we acknowledge and appreciate the work our education support professionals do to keep our schools safe, healthy, and running smoothly.

c.
Approve the Stipulated Expulsion regarding student 2022-2023-030, expulsion through the remainder of the second semester for the 2022-2023 school year, and all of first semester for the 2023-2024 school year.

Student 2022-2023-030 was recommended for expulsion in violation of Education Code 48915 (A4) Robbery or extortion.
